The Polaris Blog: What Are We Up To?

Listen to this post.

Our hopes for the Polaris Young Adult Leadership Network are broad and bountiful: to facilitate a space that nurtures relationships and connects young leaders with one another, to provide resources that support young leaders in their work, and to share about their journeys and impact. We believe that God is at work in the world in and through young people, and the Polaris blog is dedicated to sharing their stories and equipping them in their faith-led leadership.

Story-sharing sounds great, but what’s actually on the blog?

In practice, the blog will grow and transform in time with Polaris itself. We are committed to highlighting the stories of young adults through interviews and narratives with and by young adults. Further, while the blog often features articles from leadership experts of all ages, we are profoundly committed to amplifying the expertise of young adults themselves. This means young Christian leaders between the ages of 23 and 29 are regularly contributing to the blog.

Who can contribute to the blog?

If you’re a young adult Christian leader interested in writing for the blog or sharing your story in a different way, please indicate your interest by filling out our “Get Connected” form. We are not able to feature every story on the blog, but we do our best to provide ample opportunity for members of Polaris to have their voice heard.

If you fall outside of Polaris’ primary age range (23–29 years) and would like to contribute to the blog, please email us at polaris@ptsem.edu.

A note on language

The Polaris Young Adult Leadership Network is an ecumenical organization. It intends to bring together young adult Christian leaders from all denominational backgrounds and to bridge theological differences and divides. Yet, bridging these differences does not entail a smoothing over of particularity. Polaris appreciates the spiritual particularities of all its members and recognizes the weight of language in naming and embodying theological frameworks. Throughout the blog, readers will find authors using different metaphors and/or pronouns for God. Where some may feel familiar, others may be new to you. We invite you to reflect on these differences from a place of curiosity rather than judgement.

A young adult herself, Brooke supports catalytic young adult leaders by creating and kindling opportunities for connection and learning. She is enthusiastic about cultivating welcoming, safe, and encouraging spaces of community for folks of all ages and is eager to begin serving alongside and connecting with the many young adults already at work in their own neighborhoods. Brooke holds a BA from Lipscomb University and an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary with certificates in Theology, Ecology, and Faith Formation, and Women, Theology, and Gender. In her free time, you can find her curled up on her porch with a good book, a hot cup of coffee, and her corgi, Friday.
